Using the incredible foldability of a triangular pattern to the consumer’s advantage. Designer Patrick Sung used the idea to allow custom shapes to be wrapped, minimising excess packaging. The geometric pattern can also be folded into standard box sizes.

This week Phil Cuttance’s Faceture vases have been circulating the web - although the packaging above lacks the beauty and arty video to complement the design, it seems a real application of an interesting form. I hope this will be available soon!

This Thermometer Lets You Actually Feel The Temp Outside
The Cryoscope Haptic Weathervane, created by Robb Godshaw of Syyn Labs, conveys the temperature by allowing you to experience it. Syncing with Wi-Fi to online weather reports, you can touch this aluminum cube to actually feel the outside temperature rather than simply reading about it through numbers or whimsical sunshine icons.

Digital Portraits

Digital t-shirt project with Linda Kostowsk.

Three people are portrayed digitally by scanning their bodies. the output of this scan is a 3d file, which resolution is defined by the amount of polygons. linked with their biographical memories a digital twin of the body is thus created, which expands and personifies the garment in a formal poetic way.

“The Bicycle bench was designed as a way to help recycle parts of the hundreds of old rusty damaged bicycles, left to die, chained to the lamp posts of New York City. By reutilizing and welding discarded tubes and saddles the old bike parts can be re-incorporated into the public realm as a simple useful urban furniture piece. The concept also wishes to constitute a sculptural exercise that reminds us of the importance of the bicycle as a valid and ecological mode of transportation even in a city as hectic and impatient as New York.”
